Hôpital Régional de Ngaoundéré is situated within the city of Ngaoundéré – the capital city of the Adamawa Region. It is an important communications hub linking the South of Cameroon with the Northern part of the country.
Over the past years, patients in the Adamawa Region diagnosed with chronic kidney disease had to travel averagely 450km to Garoua or Maroua dialysis centers for treatment or relocate with their family to farther regions: Yaoundé and Douala for Hemodialysis. Hemodialysis is an extracorporeal blood purification technique used for patients affected by chronic kidney disease.
In 2022, The Ministry of Public Health (MOH) decided to put an end to patients’ pains within this region. Further to this, MOH desired outcome of this project was to have in place an ultra modern dialysis system of 10 treatment posts to achieve a high-quality care with the best possible patient outcome.
Through traditional contract procedures, a consortium: Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd., and Technologie Médicale du Cameroun Sarl were retained for this sensitive government project. The role of Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd., was to implement the vision of MOH for this new center through supplies and installation of an ultra modern dialysis system with efficient services. Technologies Médicale du Cameroun Sarl was in charge of civil engineering works of the building.
In 3 months, MOH’s objectives were achieved and the Adamawa Region now dispose of a new dialysis center. The Ngaoundéré dialysis center has witnessed a continuous return of patients.
